What was studied
A ten-week intervention among mental health service users: 59 enrolled and 45 analyzed, with 30 in drumming and 15 in a geographically allocated comparison group.
What it contributes
Several anxiety, depression and resilience comparisons favored the drumming group.
Where the evidence stops
Allocation was not random. Biomarker measurements and later follow-up lacked equivalent comparison data. The study does not establish immune improvement or predict the effects of ordinary community band membership.
