What was studied

An online survey of 235 respondents, predominantly in the United Kingdom, about amateur music during the COVID-19 lockdown.

What it contributes

Respondents missed shared playing and social contact. Experiences with online alternatives and other musical activity varied.

Where the evidence stops

There was no pre-pandemic comparison capable of separating causes. Intentions to return are not observed returns. The main text was reviewed, but the visual tables have not all been audited.

About this review

The main text was reviewed. A complete audit of the visual tables remains outstanding.
