What was studied
A University of Oklahoma doctoral document based on seven directors associated with 11 youth, collegiate, community and advanced adult ensembles outside Oklahoma.
What it contributes
The cases offer examples of adapting ensemble work to available players and instruments.
Where the evidence stops
Selected directors’ accounts do not measure learner outcomes. The mixed settings and university affiliation should not be mistaken for an Oklahoma community band sample.
About this review
This is a targeted review of selected sections. The record should not be read as an appraisal of the entire work.
